Modules Included in the MOE Package
MOE, the Molecular Operating Environment, does not contain "modules" as other packages in the Program do. Rather,
MOE is a comprehensive software system for Life Science. MOE is a combined Applications Environment and Methodology Development Platform that integrates visualization, simulation and application development in one package. MOE contains a broad base of scientific applications:
- Bioinformatics (Structure and Family Databases, Fold/Homologue Identification, Alignment, Consensus)
- Cheminformatics (Descriptors, Similarity and Diversity, Conformation Databases, 3D Search)
- High Throughput Discovery (HTS Analysis, Combinatorial Library Design)
- Structure Based Design (Active Site Detection, Contact Potentials, Docking, Fragment Analysis)
- Protein Modeling (Homology Modeling, Mutation, Mechanics, Dynamics, Analysis)
- Molecular Modeling and Simulations (Forcefields, Electrostatics, Mechanics, Dynamics, Diffraction)
- Methodology Development and Deployment (Prototyping, Integrating, Distributed Computing)
MOE can be installed on a variety of platforms: MAC, Windows, Linux, Unix (SGI, SUN, IBM).
